There are services and support designed for those who are worried about their behaviour or have been accused of being abusive.

Respect is an organisation working with perpetrators, male victims and young people using violence in their close relationships. The service supports men and women who are using abuse in their relationships by providing advice to help stop violent behaviours. They also offer advice to concerned friends and family members.

Call 0808 8024040 or email info@respectphoneline.org.uk. The services are available 10:00-17:00 Monday to Friday and 09:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, respectively.

Safer Families Edinburgh work with people who are abusive or violent towards their partner to help change their behaviour. They have both a men’s and a women’s service (they do not work with men and women side by side as couples).

Call 0131 469 5325 or email saferfamilies@edinburgh.gov.uk.
